At their own pace.
With the right guidance.
And with people who continue to believe in them.

KOT provides a personalised development environment for young people who need an alternative learning setting, with a strong focus on development, guidance and personal growth.
The support offered within KOT combines academic guidance, study coaching, personal development, activation, mental well-being support, and preparation for obtaining a diploma through homeschooling and the Flemish Examination Board.
Structured support with subject matter and exam preparation.
Planning, organising and learning how to learn.
Mental well-being support as part of everyday learning.
Homeschooling and the Flemish Examination Board.
At KOT, we believe that not every young person learns in the same way, develops at the same pace, or thrives within the same structure.
That is why, at KOT, we don’t start with the system. We start with the young person.

For us, learning goes beyond acquiring knowledge.
Students are the main actors in their own learning process. They actively take part in it. Learning is not something that simply happens to you; it is something you actively create.

Development does not only happen at a desk.
We tend to think that learning happens only in the brain, and that learning well therefore simply means making sure our brains function well. But that is not how our system works: everything is interconnected. We learn better when we move, we feel better when we move, and we learn better when we feel better.

Ultimately, we are building something much bigger than a diploma.
KOT is a place where young people can develop with their future in mind: Who am I? Who do I want to be? What is my goal? What do I need to function well and thrive in life?
At KOT, we work in small groups, focusing on the following key areas:
Students can choose between a daytime and an evening program.
ProgramIn the Day Program, young people follow a complete alternative learning pathway based on “Labs” rather than traditional classroom lessons.
ProgramIn the Evening Program, young people are already following another educational pathway but need additional guidance and support.
All of these challenges can create additional tension at home. That is why KOT offers evening support, where we place an even stronger emphasis on our philosophy and approach.
Instead, our program is built around different “Labs”. Select a Lab to read more about it.
Through VIC Study / Sport, our digital platform for parents and young people, we bring together planning, communication, observations, feedback and progress tracking in one place.
This allows parents to stay involved without the need for a constant stream of separate emails and messages every day.
VIC Study / Sport also serves as a central communication channel and is made available to every student and parent.

KOT is carried by a small team of coaches who work closely with every young person.

Movement and activation run through everything we do. Alongside the Labs, KOT offers dedicated sport pathways.

The hockey pathway combines training and development with the academic guidance and coaching offered at KOT.
Other sports will be added in the future.
