Kids of Tomorrow

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow.

At their own pace.

With the right guidance.

And with people who continue to believe in them.

What is KOT

A learning environment built around the young person

KOT provides a personalised development environment for young people who need an alternative learning setting, with a strong focus on development, guidance and personal growth.

The support offered within KOT combines academic guidance, study coaching, personal development, activation, mental well-being support, and preparation for obtaining a diploma through homeschooling and the Flemish Examination Board.

Vision

We don’t start with the system. We start with the young person.

At KOT, we believe that not every young person learns in the same way, develops at the same pace, or thrives within the same structure.

That is why, at KOT, we don’t start with the system. We start with the young person.

Learning

For us, learning goes beyond acquiring knowledge.

  • Learning means understanding how you learn.
  • Learning how to plan.
  • Learning how to organise.
  • Learning how to deal with challenges.
  • Learning how to take responsibility.

Students are the main actors in their own learning process. They actively take part in it. Learning is not something that simply happens to you; it is something you actively create.

Activating

Development does not only happen at a desk.

  • Movement, energy, health and mental resilience all play a crucial role in the learning process.
  • That is why activation is an essential part of what we do.
  • Because young people learn better when they feel good.

We tend to think that learning happens only in the brain, and that learning well therefore simply means making sure our brains function well. But that is not how our system works: everything is interconnected. We learn better when we move, we feel better when we move, and we learn better when we feel better.

Building

Ultimately, we are building something much bigger than a diploma.

  • We are building confidence.
  • Independence.
  • Character.

KOT is a place where young people can develop with their future in mind: Who am I? Who do I want to be? What is my goal? What do I need to function well and thrive in life?

The Way We Work

Students can choose between a daytime and an evening program.

In the Day Program, young people follow a complete alternative learning pathway based on “Labs” rather than traditional classroom lessons.

Evening Program

In the Evening Program, young people are already following another educational pathway but need additional guidance and support.

Sound familiar?

  • Assignments start piling up
  • Planning becomes difficult
  • Exams cause too much stress
  • Studying keeps getting postponed

All of these challenges can create additional tension at home. That is why KOT offers evening support, where we place an even stronger emphasis on our philosophy and approach.

Hours

Evening hours will be announced shortly.
Labs

We don’t work with traditional class periods

Instead, our program is built around different “Labs”. Select a Lab to read more about it.

VIC Study / Sport

Always involved

Through VIC Study / Sport, our digital platform for parents and young people, we bring together planning, communication, observations, feedback and progress tracking in one place.

This allows parents to stay involved without the need for a constant stream of separate emails and messages every day.

VIC Study / Sport also serves as a central communication channel and is made available to every student and parent.
